Your plans, built by people you can talk to.
Building a new home is a big decision. You want to know who’s building it, what’s included and what’s happening throughout the build.
OYL Constructions is a Ballarat builder specialising in custom and new homes. Whether you already have plans for a custom home or you’re starting to explore what it takes to build a house in Ballarat, you’ll have direct contact with directors Alex and Neville from the first conversation through to handover.
If you already have plans for your new home, bring them to us. We can sit down with you, understand what you’re looking to build and go through what’s needed before we put together a detailed quote.
If you’re earlier in the process and don’t have plans yet, that’s okay too. We can talk through where you’re at and help you understand what you’ll need to get your custom home project moving.
Single and double storey, built to your plans.
New homes on rural and lifestyle blocks around Ballarat.
Replacing an existing house on a block you already own.
Where the slab and site work need extra thought.
When you’re building a custom home, you’re choosing more than the team who’ll construct it. You’re choosing the people you’ll be working with throughout the build.
At OYL, that means knowing who you’re talking to, having a clear understanding of what’s included and being kept informed as your new home takes shape.
From your first conversation, you’ll have direct contact with Alex and Neville. They stay involved throughout the project, so you know who you’re working with and who to speak to when you have a question.
We take the time to understand the scope of your new home and account for the costs upfront, so you have a clear picture of what’s included in your quote. If the scope changes during the build, we’ll talk through what that means for the project and cost before moving ahead.
Our project management software helps keep you informed about what’s happening, when people will be on site and what’s coming up, alongside direct communication from the OYL team.
With both carpentry and concreting capability within the OYL team, we can take care of more of the construction ourselves and limit the number of different trades needed on site.
We’re a Ballarat construction business, building homes in the community where Alex and Neville are raising their own families. We know the area, we’re easy to get hold of and you’ll be working with a local team throughout your build. Keep an eye out for our vehicles!
We build across Ballarat and surrounding towns, including rural and lifestyle blocks, generally within a one-hour radius of Ballarat. If you’re unsure whether we service your area, please get in touch and we’d be happy to have a chat.
Tell Alex or Neville about your block, your plans and your timing.
We go through the plans with you and flag anything that affects cost or buildability.
A clear, comprehensive quote setting out the scope and costs.
We explain what’s needed before construction can start.
Regular updates through our project management software and direct contact with the directors.
We hand over your new home, ready to move in.
Send us your plans or tell us where you’re at, and Alex or Neville will get back to you to talk through the next step.
Yes. If you already have plans for your new home, we can review them with you, talk through the project and put together a detailed quote for the build.
Every custom home is different, so the cost will depend on the scope of the project and what you’re planning to build. Once we understand your plans and the project in more detail, we can put together a clear, detailed quote so you understand what’s included.
Given every build is different, the timeframe will depend on the project and where you’re at when you first come to us. We’ll talk about timing early, be upfront about what’s realistic and keep you informed as the build progresses.
You’ll have direct contact with Alex and Neville, who stay involved throughout your project, supported by the wider OYL team.
If the scope changes during construction, we’ll talk through what the change means for the project and any impact on cost before moving ahead.
Yes, depending on the project. We’ll need to have a conversation about your plans and your block before confirming whether OYL is the right fit for your knockdown rebuild.
